Tenure-Track Position in Applied Mathematics

The Département de mathématiques et de statistique is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics.

Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will be expected to teach at all three levels of the curriculum, supervise graduate students, engage in ongoing research and publication, and contribute to the academic life and reputation of the University.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics or equivalent doctorate
  • Excellence in research is essential. The ability to participate in institutional projects such as health sciences, engineering or environmental sciences is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach
  • Proficiency in the French language

Constitution of application

  • a cover letter
  • a curriculum vitæ
  • a statement of the research project
  • copies of up to 3 recent publications or research papers

Four letters of recommendation are also to be sent directly to the department chair by the referees. Without being a requirement, it would be advisable that they include comments on teaching aptitude.
